PC/Laptop IP Address

For Windows you can open a command prompt and type ipconfig 
(click the Start button and type cmd, then click the cmd.exe icon to get a command prompt)

Look for IPv4 Addresses ( there may be more than one ) You will commonly see something like 192.168.0.20
or
10.0.0.20

These are your IPv4 adesses.

If you see an address like 169.254.x.x then that means that the network adaptor has not been able to get a valid address or is not connected.
